Creating an ACF field group

To create an ACF field group head over to the Custom Fields menu item on the left side of your wordpress sidebar. Click on "Add New".

Steps:

  • Developer should add relevant name for the field group (example: Repeatable Blocks or Hero Options).
  • Fields section is where you/developer can create and manage custom fields necessary for this field group.
  • Location section where you can specify where or when should this particular field grow appear. You can choose for this field group to appear only on certain post types or only if certain type of page template is chosen.
  • Options section is where you can make additional customisations such as: position of field group on your page (under the content, in your right sidebar). You can set “Order No.” in case you have multiple field groups on the page. Also style(appearance) of the field group on page and “Hide on Screen” options.
